Firestone Tire and Rubber Company is a pioneer in the mass production of tires, and was the original equipment provider for the Ford Motor Company before being sold to Bridgestone. Firestone came up with and introduced specific designs to the industry including Firehawk for performance vehicles, FR for passenger vehicles, Precision for touring cars, TransForce and Destination for light trucks, and Winterforce for winters. Apart from Ford, some Firestone tire lines come as original equipment for new automobiles as well.

Design Features

Tires Firestone provide a combination of a smooth-ride experience with an extended wear traction. The tires are compound-molded and silica-enhanced for different types of vehicles. The systematic design of the tread offers better road grip for different kinds of weather conditions. Firestone tires are also equipped with shoulder blocks that are botched and coupled with a consistent rib design to improve the life of the tread.

This feature is also beneficial for even wearing of the tire. The sweeping as well the circumferential grooves are made along the footprint of the tire. These grooves have a vital role to play in enhancing the dispersion of liquid and slush during low temperatures, as well as limiting hydroplaning. The grooves are essential during wet traction as well. Hankook tires also feature shoulder rib notches which give the tire its biting edges.

Warranty

All shapes and designs that are Euro-metric and p-metric tires by Firestone come with 60,000 miles or five years tread life warranty. The first 1/32-inch wearing is also covered under the uniformity warranty. Firestone offers another five-year warranty for materials and workmanship. As per this warranty, free of cost replacement is provided within the first three years and on a prorated basis for the remaining two years until a depth of 2/32-inch remains.
