An on- and off-road tire designed for applications requiring aggressive looks and true off-road capability. The Grabber AT2 tire is available for most light truck applications, and brings aggressive all-terrain traction – for all terrain and all weather conditions. But unlike most all-terrain tires, Grabber AT2 also delivers a remarkably quiet ride. Building on General Tire’s legacy of desert racing, the Grabber AT2 has been chosen as the spec tire for the 2008 Trophylite racing series and proven itself through many victories.
The Grabber AT2 features a five-row lug pattern with strategically-placed sipes that result in many biting edges, which excel when taken off-road. This tire’s structural integrity is exceptional, because Grabber AT2 is made in segmented molds rather than two-piece molds, to ensure superior uniformity. And the ply structure and casing technology are designed to be extremely durable.
Computer-optimized contouring gives Grabber AT2 a wider, flatter tread contour with a squared shoulder. Also, the sharp edge -- where the tread meets the sidewall -- enhances the tire's performance and adds to its aggressive good looks. Rubber distribution and stress points are evenly balanced throughout the tire, which increases tread life by distributing heat evenly, in order to reduce uneven wear.
The wide, flat footprint provides maximum ground contact to increase traction -- both on-road and off-road, and to improve stability and braking on the highway. Grabber AT2's computer-designed tread elements prevent heel-and-toe wear that is common with other tires. This helps keep the ride quiet and smooth and greatly improves tread life. Bold tread rows are reinforced with tie-bars, which limit the movement of individual tread lugs, also reducing heel-and-toe wear.
